There is nothing quite as special as having a child. If you’re a parent, then you know what I’m talking about: that feeling you get the first time you hold your newborn baby and look into their eyes is unlike anything else you could ever experience. Trust me, I have three kids! You prepare yourself as best as possible for all that parenting entails, but you can never truly prepare to watch your kids grow up, mature and have kids of their own.
While my three little ones are still figuring out middle school homework assignments and extracurricular calendars, I’ve had the pleasure of watching my peers and colleagues at Medix grow throughout the years. It’s such a blessing to be a part of such a magical moment in someone’s life. It’s truly special to get to know a career-focused young man or woman straight out of college and then watch and support them as they find spouses, buy houses and shift roles into mommy and daddy. I’m as excited, humbled and eager for each of them as I would be my own children.
Lately it seems that there is something in the water, as we’ve been blessed at Medix to welcome a whole new generation of children all across the country. Knowing that this company has played a small role in creating opportunity for each and every individual and being a part of these extraordinary milestones is perhaps the most rewarded I’ve ever felt. And to see these same teammates welcome their children into this world, celebrated and surrounded by other Medix teammates is simply incredible.
Cheers to all my colleagues, coworkers, friends and family who have welcomed or will welcome a baby into this world. As a dad, I wish you many nights of sleep and rest, and as a friend, I look forward to being a part of your next chapter.
As one of the more recent Medix colleagues to go through this, I can attest to how neat it is to feel the love and support from my Medix family. My son (second child) was born over Super Bowl weekend and I watched the big game from my humble couch-bed in the hospital room! I wouldn’t have traded it for the best party I could have attended.
I love this growing Ohana! Congrats again on your baby boy!
Good words, Andrew! Medix Ohana!
Thank you, Val!
